1 Killed, 1 Injured in North Cumberland ATV Accident

North Cumberland, TN. – One person was killed and another was seriously injured in an ATV crash in North Cumberland on Saturday morning.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the accident happened near the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area.

Two men left work at a truck stop in LaFollette in a side-by-side off-highway vehicle and arrived at an off-roading park.

For unknown reasons, the operator lost control and rolled down a 200-foot cliff.

Authorities say the 41-year-old male operator of the vehicle was ejected and succumbed to his injuries.

The 27-year-old male passenger of the ATV was seriously injured and was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
