2 Juveniles Injured in Bates County ATV Accident on County Road 6002
Bates County, MO. – Two juveniles were injured in an ATV accident on Sunday morning in Bates County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened on County Road 6002 near Business 49 at around 10 a.m.
An 8-year-old boy from Butler was riding a 2002 Honda Rancher ATV northbound on County Road 6002 when he drifted into the path of a westbound 2004 Ford F-250, driven by a 68-year-old Butler man.
The eight-year-old and his nine-year-old passenger were seriously injured and were transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital by Bates County EMS.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
