Juvenile Killed in Macon County ATV Accident on Fort Daniel Road

Macon County, IL. – A juvenile was killed in an ATV accident that left another seriously injured on Sunday afternoon in Macon County.

According to the Macon Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 12:15 p.m. in the area of Fort Daniel Road.

A 43-year-old man was driving a four-passenger ATV and pulling an innertube that was occupied by two juvenile males.

The ATV reportedly hit a boulder, ejecting the two juveniles.

Mt. Zion Fire Department and Abbott Ambulance responded to the scene and rendered aid to the juveniles.

Both juveniles were transported to a local hospital where one succumbed to injuries.

One person was transported to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
