Man Killed in Mayfield ATV Accident near Chupka Road
Mayfield, N.Y. – A 37-year-old man died after his ATV plunged through the ice of Great Sacandaga Lake on Sunday morning.
According to the State Police, the accident happened around 8:14 a.m. near Chupka Road in Mayfield.
The man was driving an ATV with one passenger on board when the vehicle broke through the ice and plunged into the cold waters.
The man was unresponsive upon being pulled from the water and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he later died.
The passenger was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
