Richmond Man Killed in Dixmont ATV Accident near Firetower Road
Dixmont, ME. – A 65-year-old man was killed in an ATV accident in Dixmont on Saturday, November 2.
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife reports the Richmond man went out on his ATV on Saturday morning to go hunting.
The man did not return for breakfast and a brief search resulted in the discovery of the crash scene on an old tote road, about a mile off Firetower Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the quad bike rolled over on top of the man.
The man died at the scene.
The Dixmont Fire Department and Plymouth Fire and Rescue also responded to the incident.
The Maine Warden Service and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash.
